Santa Pola has confirmed the return of one of the province’s most emblematic popular races with the revival of its 10K night event in 2026. Now rebranded as the 10K Santa Pola Summer Race, the competition is being organised by the Santa Pola Athletics Club with main sponsorship from the Town Hall. At its peak, the race attracted close to 4,000 runners.

The event will be held on the first Saturday of June, starting at 21:00, creating a summer atmosphere along the seafront. The flat, fully urban 10 km circuit runs alongside the beaches, harbour and town centre, with start and finish on Avenida Pérez Ojeda. The same course debuted in January, when Jakob Krop set a record of 27:46 and Clare Chemtai Ndwia won the women’s race in 31:32.

A special prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded to the first male and female runners who beat those records. Trophies will also be presented to the top three overall finishers, category winners, local runners, athletes with disabilities and the three best teams in both men’s and women’s divisions.

Registration is open until 3 June at 22:00, subject to availability. Entry is open to runners aged 16 and over, whether federated or not. Fees start at 17 euros for the first 500 entrants or until 31 March, rising gradually to 23 euros. All finishers will receive a medal and towel.
