Torrevieja Council has opened the application period for municipal grants aimed at supporting older residents with limited financial resources. Applications are open from 24 March until 23 April. The scheme provides a one-off payment of up to 400 euros per beneficiary, with a total budget of 399,200 euros allocated for this year’s call.

The grants are available to residents aged over 60 who are pensioners, including retirement, widow’s or orphan’s pensions, or who receive a compensatory pension. Applicants must have been registered in Torrevieja for at least two consecutive years, have an income below 1.5 times the IPREM, and be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations.

In cases where the applicant lives with close family members up to second degree, including parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren or siblings, the total household income will be assessed. Applicants must not own more than one main residence, apart from a garage or storage room, and must not owe outstanding subsidy repayments.

Applications can be submitted at the General Register of Torrevieja Town Hall or via the municipal electronic office. In-person assistance is also available at the Casa de la Tercera Edad, on Calle Pedro Lorca, 74, from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. In the previous call, 848 people applied for support.
