Orihuela Local Police have closed a premises in the La Regia area of the coast following a night-time operation that uncovered significant quantities of drugs. After carrying out a detailed search, officers seized nearly 6 kilos of marijuana, 300 grams of hashish and 50 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, as well as equipment linked to drug use and distribution. Cash believed to be connected to the alleged illegal activity was also confiscated.

Several people found inside the premises have been reported for possession of illegal and psychotropic substances. An investigation has been opened into those responsible for the establishment for an alleged offence against public health. All seized materials and money have been placed at the disposal of the courts.

Police have reminded residents that public co‑operation is vital and have urged anyone who notices suspicious activity to report it.

In a separate operation carried out days earlier, officers arrested two men during a preventive traffic control in Calle Salvador Dalí, in the Playa Flamenca area. Police seized 8.8 kilos of a substance believed to be marijuana from a BMW X6 with German registration. A false Bulgarian identity card was also discovered concealed inside a mobile phone case.
