Three people have been injured following a fire at a ground-floor property in Orihuela Costa.
The blaze broke out at 4:37am on Wednesday at number 115 Calle Ciruela, a road parallel to the VillamartÃn road in the Los Dolses urbanisation. The Provincial Firefighters Consortium said crews focused on extinguishing the fire and clearing large amounts of smoke from the home.
Firefighters used mechanical extractors to ventilate the property. The incident was brought under control in less than an hour, with operations concluding at 5:24am.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU), alerted at 4:45am, deployed a SAMU unit and additional basic life support ambulances. Medical teams treated a 68-year-old woman and two men, aged 57 and unknown, for smoke inhalation. All three were transferred to Torrevieja University Hospital.
