Torrevieja’s Holy Week in 2026 will feature major route changes after the Junta Mayor of Brotherhoods confirmed adjustments due to works at the seafront and ongoing repairs to the roof of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

The rehabilitation project means processions will not enter or leave the church building for safety reasons, as access points are currently limited. Brotherhood members will instead assemble in nearby streets, with only bearers allowed to accompany floats at certain stages. Palm Sunday Mass will be held outdoors in Constitution Square because of space restrictions inside the храм.

Several processions have been shortened, particularly on Holy Monday, following requests from bearers to reduce the physical strain. The most significant change affects the traditional Encuentro on the Via Dolorosa. This year both processions will depart from the same point, with the meeting taking place at the junction of Ramón Gallud and Concepción streets, beside Constitution Square, allowing larger crowds to watch safely.

A transparent marquee will also be installed on Maldonado Street so the public can view the images, as many will not return to the parish church after the processions. Torrevieja’s Holy Week involves 15 brotherhoods, 19 floats and up to 4,000 participants, excluding musical bands.
