Spanish National Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in Benidorm after seizing 119 grams of cocaine during a routine vehicle check.

Officers were carrying out a preventive security control on a main road near the town’s English leisure district when they stopped a car driven by the suspect. During a search of the man and the vehicle, police found two packages hidden in his clothing containing a white substance, later confirmed to be cocaine. He was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Following the arrest, officers launched an investigation into a criminal network believed to be supplying drugs to the English leisure area of Benidorm. Two additional people were detained and two properties were searched, where further drugs and cash were seized.

After completing police procedures, the main suspect was brought before the investigating court on duty in Benidorm. Police say the operation forms part of ongoing, co-ordinated checks aimed at tackling drug distribution and strengthening public safety.
