Two off-duty officers from the Orihuela Local Police have recovered a vehicle reported stolen in France after spotting it on the AP-7 motorway.
The officers had just finished their shift and were driving near the Alicante toll exit when they noticed a French-registered car travelling at high speed. They checked the registration against police databases and confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in France.
They then began to follow the car while alerting other police units in the area. The operation concluded in Algorfa, where the vehicle was intercepted with the support of Algorfa Local Police and other regional security forces.
Two people travelling in the car were arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities. Orihuela Local Police have praised the officers’ swift action, which enabled the stolen vehicle to be located and recovered quickly.
