A 38-year-old delivery driver has been arrested in Elche, Alicante province, on suspicion of stealing high-end mobile phones worth almost 7,000 euros. National Police believe he is responsible for theft and document forgery.

According to police, the suspect allegedly removed the devices from parcels during deliveries and later resold them through online second-hand sales platforms. Investigators say he used falsified invoices from a well-known electronics retailer to give the phones an appearance of legitimacy.

The investigation began after a mobile phone company reported irregularities in the seals of several recently received packages. Officers linked the affected deliveries to the same courier company and, more specifically, to the same driver.

Further enquiries identified online listings for similar phone models and led police to buyers who confirmed they had received invoices with their purchases. The retailer named on the documents confirmed the invoices were fake and that the phones had not been sold by them. The suspect was later located and arrested.
