The Guardia Civil has arrested a young woman in Mazarrón after investigating a significant increase in thefts from vehicles in Puerto de Mazarrón. The operation, known as ‘Fugaz’, began in October 2025 when officers detected a rise in crimes against property in the coastal town.

The offences involved break-ins and चोरी from vehicles parked ברח various streets, with items such as mobile phones, documentation, bank cards, jewellery, watches, emergency beacons, small appliances, sports equipment, electric scooters and even high-end vehicle keys taken.

Specialist investigators carried out forensic examinations on affected vehicles and identified a local resident with previous convictions for similar crimes as the main suspect. After gathering sufficient evidence, officers located and arrested her on suspicion of robbery with force and theft from vehicles.

Two property searches linked to the suspect led to the recovery of a large quantity of stolen goods. So far, 24 offences have been solved, although investigators say more cases could be confirmed due to the volume of items seized.
