The Guardia Civil has dismantled an active drug sales point operating next to a betting shop in Guardamar del Segura, Alicante, following an anonymous tip-off from a concerned resident.

The investigation began in December when officers received reports of a constant flow of people visiting a flat in a residential block. Visitors were seen entering at all hours, staying only a few minutes and leaving quickly – behaviour consistent with street-level drug dealing.

Officers focused on a 40-year-old tenant with previous convictions for offences against the person. Investigators said he appeared to have a high level of spending with no clear legal income. They also established that he allegedly supplied cocaine and MDMA to customers of a nearby betting shop, causing disturbances and increasing concerns among neighbours.

During a search of the property on 22 January, officers seized 19.3 grams of cocaine, 0.8 grams of methamphetamine, 1.3 grams of hashish, 20 boxes of cutting agents, precision scales and packaging materials. The man has appeared before an investigating court in Torrevieja and has been released with conditions pending trial for alleged drug trafficking and money laundering.
