An ecological restoration day will be held this Saturday, 21 February 2026, at La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park. The initiative, titled “Let’s Restore Our Wetland”, is designed to encourage environmental conservation and active community participation.

During the morning, volunteers will take part in reforestation using native plant species. Organisers say the activity will give participants a better understanding of the importance of restoring natural vegetation and protecting fragile ecosystems.

The programme will also address the problem of invasive exotic plants and explain the environmental benefits of choosing native species for gardens and green spaces. The session runs from 10:00 to 12:00, and attendees are advised to wear suitable footwear and comfortable clothing, and to bring water, sun protection and gardening gloves.
