A new Emergency Centre for Families has opened in Elche, led by the Conciénciate Foundation. The temporary residential facility is designed for families with children facing urgent social emergencies and in need of immediate housing support. It operates круглосуточно and is based within the existing Reception and Overnight Centre, expanding its range of services.

The centre has six independent modules, suitable for families of two to six people. Each includes a private bathroom and access to shared areas with dining facilities and essential amenities. In addition to accommodation, families receive breakfast, lunch and dinner, laundry services, and social and psychosocial support from the foundation’s technical team.

Mayor Pablo Ruz said the new facility deserves the commitment and gratitude of the municipal government, adding that funding for social justice initiatives will continue. Regional Social Services Minister Elena Albalat described social policy as central to the Valencian government’s work, highlighting the importance of family support.

The launch also marks the extension of the city’s homeless shelter to a 24-hour service. The centre has 60 places and assisted 477 people in 2025, achieving 64 housing reintegrations and 28 job placements. Since opening in December 2023, 131 people have secured housing and 54 have found employment.
