The Guardia Civil has recovered 35 bicycles and 18 electric scooters in Torrevieja during Operation Pandora49. A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, as well as serious resistance and disobedience to officers.

The investigation began in January after two high-end bicycles were reported stolen from the patio of a home in the town. Officers traced the bikes to a property in the town centre. During their enquiries, they identified a man carrying a bicycle that matched the description of one of the stolen items. The owner later confirmed it was his.

Police suspected more stolen goods were inside the property. When informed that the bicycle would be temporarily seized to verify ownership, the man allegedly became hostile and obstructed officers, leading to his arrest. Following judicial authorisation, officers searched the home and recovered 34 additional bicycles, 18 electric scooters and a bag containing five chargers. The property was described as being crammed with items, with some scooters stored in the bath.

Seven theft and burglary offences committed in Torrevieja have so far been linked to the case. The suspect has been released pending a court summons. The recovered items have been placed at the disposal of the court, and residents who believe their property may be among them are being urged to provide serial numbers, photographs or proof of ownership.
