Torrevieja council has approved the award of five contracts for the preparation of construction projects within the Plan Vega Renhace, with a total investment of €481,870. The works aim to strengthen stormwater evacuation and improve flood protection across several parts of the municipality.

The projects will modernise hydraulic infrastructure in Los Balcones, Rambla Juan Mateo, Punta de la Víbora, El Limonar and the Roentgen area. Lot 1, the Los Balcones collector, has been awarded to Vielca Ingenieros S.A. for €237,402 (VAT included). Lots 2 to 5 have been awarded to the UTE Prevecons–OFI 208–Imecapi consortium: Rambla Juan Mateo €48,448.12; Punta de la Víbora €50,118.76; Limonar €50,118.76; Roentgen €95,782.50 (all VAT included).

The contracts have been awarded by open procedure subject to harmonised regulation. Work is planned with an eight-month construction period and a further twenty months for technical assistance, but schedules may be interrupted if sectoral authorisations from other administrations are required. Councillor Sandra Sánchez has said the investment will provide modern, efficient infrastructure adapted to the challenges of climate change and will improve residents’ quality of life and urban safety.
