The Policía Nacional, with assistance from local officers, has arrested two minors in Cartagena related to a series of three violent robberies targeting elderly women. The incidents, which occurred last month, involved the victims being followed on foot before being attacked by assailants on scooters. The attackers snatched handbags, leading to several women suffering injuries from falls.

The attacks took place in the Vía Verde del Barrio Peral and in the Barrio de los Dolores. In each incident, one scooter rider approached the women while a second individual grabbed their handbags before speeding away, dragging the victims and causing varying degrees of injury.

Investigators have determined that the scooter was a crucial link in this case. Following extensive inquiries, authorities tracked down the vehicle and connected it to the reported offences, resulting in the apprehension of the two minors. They have been charged with three counts of robbery with violence.

The minors are now awaiting further proceedings at the Murcia Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office as authorities continue to investigate the string of attacks. The police urge members of the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour as they work to safeguard vulnerable residents.
