In the early hours of Monday, October twenty-seventh, two thousand and twenty-five, three masked thieves orchestrated a bold burglary at a fish distribution company in San Pedro del Pinatar. They gained access to the premises around two in the morning, located an armoured safe, and stole it before making their getaway in a grey Mercedes Class C. The heist was rapid and unconventional, with the safe placed on the vehicle’s bonnet shortly after it was taken.

However, their escape was short-lived. Just minutes into their flight, the stolen Mercedes collided with another object, forcing the thieves to abandon both the vehicle and the safe, fleeing on foot. Local law enforcement, including the Guardia Civil and the San Pedro del Pinatar Local Police, arrived at the scene to find the vehicle empty and showing signs of impact.

The recovered safe was examined by investigators; it remains unclear whether the thieves were able to open it or if it contained cash at the time of the robbery. The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation, operating under the belief that this may be the work of a specialist robbery group that could have committed similar crimes in other municipalities around the Mar Menor area.
