On a spring morning, the thirty-eighth edition of the Torrevieja Half Marathon took place, attracting hundreds of spectators and more than two thousand runners competing in both the twenty-one kilometre and five kilometre events. Participants hailed from various locations, primarily the province of Alicante and surrounding communities, with runners from at least nineteen different nationalities taking part, including several notable athletes from across Europe and beyond. Each participant received a personalised medal commemorating their achievement.

The absolute winner of the half marathon was Houssame Eddine Bennabou, who completed the race in one hour, six minutes, and fifty-four seconds. Following him on the men’s podium were Iván Hernández Illán with a time of one hour, eight minutes, and fifty seconds, and Antonio Martínez Ardil, finishing at one hour, twelve minutes, and thirty-six seconds. In the women’s category, Ana María Ribera García secured victory with a time of one hour, twenty-three minutes, and twenty-four seconds, with Rebeca Blain and Hannah Stewart finishing in second and third place, clocking in at one hour, twenty-five minutes, and forty-four seconds, and one hour, twenty-five minutes, and fifty-nine seconds respectively.

The event saw attendance from several dignitaries, including the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and various council members. The podium ceremony was conducted by the Mayor alongside local councillors and the reigning Queen of Salt, Nuria Martín, who participated in awarding prizes to the winning athletes.

A robust security arrangement was implemented from early Sunday morning, ensuring the safety of all participants and spectators during this significant sporting event. Local police, Civil Guard, ambulances, and Civil Protection, along with volunteers from the Torrevieja Athletic Club and the Cycling Club, worked tirelessly for over ten hours, earning praise from everyone involved.
