The Ayuntamient de Torrevieja has made a significant stride in its commitment to affordable housing. During a recent local government meeting chaired by the mayor, councillor and secretary Federico Alarcón announced the approval of a property swap contract. This arrangement will see four municipal plots allocated for the construction of public housing. As a result, the council will receive a total of one hundred and eighty properties in exchange.

In total, more than eight hundred public housing units will be created across the La Hoya and La Manguilla areas of the city. The successful companies will have a maximum period of six months to start the necessary licensing and housing classification processes, as well as two years to complete the construction and final classification of the properties.

The entire development process will be subject to strict municipal oversight to ensure compliance with timelines and that the properties are available to eligible individuals. This initiative reinforces the council’s proactive housing policy and underscores its commitment to providing housing opportunities, particularly for young people in Torrevieja.

With this project, the Torrevieja Council continues to address the pressing need for affordable housing, aiming to enhance the living conditions for residents and promote sustainable urban development in the area.
