On Wednesday, the vaccination programme against respiratory syncytial virus commenced for vulnerable individuals over the age of fifty in care homes across the Murcia region. This initiative aims to enhance the immunity of those at higher risk of complications due to respiratory illnesses.

From the fourteenth of October, individuals aged sixty and above, including those with chronic conditions and pregnant women, will be able to receive their flu vaccinations at local health centres. Furthermore, those aged seventy and older will also have access to vaccinations against Covid-19.

Prior to this, care homes will begin administering the flu and Covid-19 vaccines on the sixth of October. Juan José Pedreño, the regional Health Minister, emphasised the critical importance of vaccination in preventing serious health issues caused by these viruses.

The vaccination schedule reflects ongoing efforts to protect the most vulnerable members of society from potentially severe viral infections. Health authorities urge eligible individuals to engage in these preventive measures as flu season approaches.
