The Ayuntamiento of Pilar de la Horadada has launched a new campaign focused on the identification and neutering of both canine and feline pets. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the significance of pet identification, which includes providing microchips, pet passports, and rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats owned by residents. Additionally, the campaign will offer castration or sterilisation procedures specifically for owned cats.

Elisabet Marcos, the councillor for Animal Protection, has emphasised that this campaign provides safety and security for both pets and their owners. She also highlighted that it facilitates health control and aids in the recovery of lost animals. To ensure success, the Ayuntamiento has partnered with local veterinary clinics to offer these essential services, promoting responsible pet ownership among residents of Pilar de la Horadada.

The campaign commenced on the twenty-ninth of September and will continue until the first of December or until the allocated budget is exhausted. Local veterinary clinics participating in this initiative include Clínica Veterinaria del Sureste, Clínica Veterinaria el Pilar, Clínica Veterinaria Pelo, Pico, Pata, and Clínica Veterinaria Moby Dick.

This initiative not only aims to improve pet welfare but also strengthens the bond between pets and their owners by encouraging responsible care and protection through adequate identification and health measures.
