In the early hours of yesterday morning, two masked thieves attempted to rob an automated cash machine outside a bank in a shopping centre in Orihuela-Costa. The incident occurred around four fifty-eight, during which the suspects detonated an explosive device. Fortunately, they were unable to successfully manipulate the cash machine and fled the scene shortly after the explosion.

A taxi driver, who happened to be in the area, witnessed the incident and interrupted the robbery attempt, which likely led to the suspects fleeing without any cash. Their current whereabouts remain unknown, and they have not yet been apprehended by law enforcement.

The investigation into this attempted robbery has been taken over by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard. They are working closely with local police and a team of explosives specialists who have been dispatched to the scene for further analysis.

Local residents are urged to remain vigilant as police continue their hunt for the suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigation.
