Alicante and Valencia airports have achieved remarkable passenger numbers for August, marking a historic month for both terminals. Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport welcomed two million and ninety-eight thousand five hundred and twenty-two travellers, reflecting a growth of six point nine per cent compared to August twenty twenty-four. International traffic constituted a significant portion, with one million eight hundred and fifty-seven thousand four hundred and ninety-six passengers recorded, despite a decrease in domestic travel.

Similarly, Valencia airport reported one million one hundred and eighty thousand and forty-seven passengers in August, an increase of five point five per cent from the previous year. International flights again dominated, with eight hundred and ninety-five thousand five hundred and sixty passengers. However, domestic flights saw a reduction, with two hundred and eighty-two thousand four hundred and twenty-five travellers.

Among international arrivals at Alicante, the UK led the way with seven hundred and fourteen thousand nine hundred and three travellers, followed by Germany and the Netherlands. Valencia airport also noted a significant influx from Italy, which counted one hundred and eighty-one thousand and forty-six travellers.

Overall, the AENA Group, which operates Spain’s airports, including London Luton, reported a total of thirty-eight million nine hundred and ninety-four thousand five hundred and sixty-one passengers across its network in August twenty twenty-five, signifying a four per cent increase compared to the same month in twenty twenty-four.
