The full council of the Alicante Provincial Council has unanimously approved the Smart Costa Blanca 2.0 project, allowing the provincial government to manage one million and two hundred thousand euros. This funding will be used to deploy technological platforms and digital solutions across municipalities in the province that are part of the Smart Tourist Destination Network.

This initiative results from a project designed by the Costa Blanca Patronage, presented to the call promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. It aims to continue the digital transformation of the province by improving tourism management, accessibility, and sustainability.

Toni Pérez, the President of the Provincial Council, stated that this project aligns with the strategy related to the sustainable and digital transition of the Alicante tourism sector. He emphasised that this industry is crucial to the local economy, making Smart Costa Blanca 2.0 an integral initiative aimed at revitalising and modernising it through effective public-private synergies and technological transformation.

Smart Costa Blanca 2.0 will strengthen tourist integration and efficiency in the Alicante area, enhance accessibility and sustainability, generate a positive impact on attracting visitors, manage natural resources, and create jobs and business opportunities within the sector.
