Border checks with Italy extended
Italy is extending border checks on travellers arriving from Spain for another 15 days.
The controls at Italian airports and ports were first introduced in August, following the mass arrival of migrants in Ceuta.
Italy says the latest extension is aimed at strengthening European border protection and preventing possible security and terrorist threats.
The checks are random and apply to travellers arriving from Spain.
Spain has responded by imposing the same controls on people arriving from Italy, currently until the eighth of October.
