Guardamar del Segura has achieved a remarkable milestone by registering its twenty thousandth citizen, a first for the municipality. The Mayor, José Luis Sáez, announced the news on social media, accompanied by several idyllic images celebrating this achievement. This significant landmark reflects the growing appeal of Guardamar del Segura as a destination for both residents and tourists alike.

In twenty twenty-four, the National Institute of Statistics indicated that Guardamar del Segura had a registered population of eighteen thousand one hundred and eleven inhabitants. However, this number may fluctuate due to the town’s status as a coastal municipality that attracts substantial tourism, particularly during the summer months.

The influx of visitors tends to boost the population significantly, especially during peak holiday seasons, leading to a notable increase in the number of temporary residents. For instance, hotel occupancy rates soared to eighty-six point forty-eight per cent last August, which marked an increase of half a percentage point compared to the previous year.

This historic registration not only highlights the growth of the locality but also showcases Guardamar del Segura’s thriving community and its ability to attract new residents and visitors year-round.
