In August twenty twenty-five, the Civil Guard reported that a total of two hundred and sixty-six drivers were placed at the disposal of the judiciary in the Valencia region for suspected road safety offences. In the province of Alicante, eighty-six individuals faced legal action, primarily for driving without a licence or while under the influence of alcohol. The Civil Guard’s Traffic Group revealed that thirty-five drivers were apprehended for lacking the necessary permits or licences, with some never having held one and others having lost their entitlement completely.

Additionally, fifty drivers were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, one for speeding, one for leaving the scene of an accident, and another for reckless driving. Across the Valencia region, the predominant reasons for judicial proceedings were alcohol-related driving offences, with one hundred and fifty-one cases, followed by driving without a licence, which accounted for one hundred and one cases. The authorities also acted against seven drivers for reckless driving, three for speeding, three for leaving the scene of an accident, and two for drug presence.

When breaking down the figures by province, Valencia saw one hundred and forty drivers facing judicial action, including eighty-three for alcohol-related offences and fifty-one for lacking a permit. In Castellón, there were thirty-eight actions, with eighteen for alcohol and fifteen for driving without a licence. The Civil Guard has emphasised that these offences represent a serious threat to all road users and may result in prison sentences, fines, or loss of driving privileges, according to the Penal Code.
