The Town Hall of Torrevieja has rejected a compensation claim of nine thousand euros from a man who alleges he was injured after jumping over the perimeter wall of Doña Sinforosa Park. The incident reportedly occurred on the tenth of June, twenty twenty-four, and the council spokesperson, Federico Alarcón, provided details during a press briefing to clarify the decision taken by the local governing board.

The rejection was based on several factors, including the clearly posted park closing hours. Authorities indicated that the park closes at nine thirty in the evening, and it was the claimant’s responsibility to exit before closing time. Furthermore, municipal reports noted that upon local police arrival, the man was found outside the fenced area and did not demonstrate that he had jumped the fence from inside the park.

Officials also reported that the claimant was in an evident state of intoxication at the time of the incident. Unlike other similar cases where individuals call the local police to gain access, no such call was made in this instance. Details surrounding the nature of the man’s alleged injuries were not specified, nor was the time he was found outside the park provided.

Doña Sinforosa Park, the most lush park in Torrevieja, covers around eight thousand eight hundred square metres and features a romantic design dating back to the early twentieth century, with ancient eucalyptus and pines.
