The City Council of Almoradí has awarded a contract for the conservation and maintenance of the roof of the Pabellón Mayte Andreu. This initiative aims to provide a definitive solution to the water leak problems that have disrupted sporting activities in recent years. During rainy periods, leaks have occasionally forced the suspension or relocation of training sessions and competitions, causing inconvenience for clubs and the numerous users of this municipal facility.

The ongoing work includes comprehensive cleaning of the gutters to remove accumulated rust and debris, as well as the application of waterproofing products across the entire roof to ensure effectiveness and prolong the building’s lifespan. Councillor for Sports, Carmen Berná, and Mayor María Gómez have visited the facility to oversee the works. Berná stated, “This investment is necessary to ensure our athletes can train and compete under the best conditions, free from the disruptions caused by rain.”

The Pabellón Mayte Andreu is a key facility in Almoradí, regularly hosting hundreds of athletes across various sports. Mayor Gómez emphasised that this project reinforces the council’s commitment to local sports, investing in the maintenance and modernisation of sporting facilities, and providing safe, quality spaces that meet current demands.
