The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation into the theft of three valuable racing pigeons, known as ‘Sordo’, ‘Gran Capitán’, and ‘Joker’. The birds are reported to be worth around one hundred and seventy thousand euros, making them highly sought-after in the competitive world of pigeon racing.

According to the owners, the theft occurred recently, and they have filed a report that highlights the significance of these pigeons within the racing community of the Region of Murcia and the Valencia Community. The pigeons are regarded as esteemed contenders, boasting an impressive track record in competitions.

Authorities are focusing their investigation on known ‘colombaires’, or pigeon fanciers, with previous criminal records in the local areas. This targeted approach aims to identify suspects who may be involved in the theft and to recover the stolen birds as quickly as possible.

The incident has raised concerns among pigeon racing enthusiasts, who fear that such crimes could deter participation in the sport. The Guardia Civil is urging anyone with information about the missing birds or the circumstances of their disappearance to come forward.
