The Local Environmental Unit of Torrevieja has successfully rescued a young flamingo that was disoriented and unable to regain flight near the Cinta de la Sal, close to the port. The alert was received via emergency services by a lifeguard, which allowed for a prompt response from the authorities following established protocols for such incidents.

Upon locating the flamingo, the agents rescued it and transported the bird to municipal facilities where it was assessed to be in apparent good health. The situation was then communicated to the Santa Faz Wildlife Recovery Centre, which will provide the necessary veterinary care for its rehabilitation and potential reintegration into its natural habitat.
