A seventy-one-year-old man tragically died on Tuesday afternoon after collapsing at Rihuete Beach in Puerto de Mazarrón. According to witness accounts, the man fainted while performing physical exercises in an outdoor calisthenics area. Other witnesses noted that he had just exited the water and felt unwell after leaving the sea.

Civil Protection members quickly responded to the incident and found the individual in cardiac arrest. They proceeded to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an attempt to revive him. Despite their multiple efforts, the attempts were unfortunately unsuccessful.

Local police also attended the scene and reported the unfortunate outcome to the Guardia Civil. The incident has prompted discussions regarding safety measures on public beaches, where such emergencies can occur unexpectedly.

Mazarrón continues to mourn the loss of a resident, with many recalling the importance of vigilance when engaging in physical activities, especially near water.
