The Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja, through the Parks and Gardens Department and the company Actúa, has been implementing a new comprehensive maintenance plan for public green spaces across the city. In recent weeks, efforts have included tree and shrub pruning, clearing of landscaped areas, and the repositioning of curbs in parks and promenades. Additional work has involved enhancing trees, repairing manholes, repainting benches, and renewing seasonal flowers to bring more colour and vibrancy to the most frequented areas.

Recently, one hundred and fifty planters were installed at strategic locations in the urban centre, including the Plaza de la Constitución and the streets of Ramón Gallud, Concepción, and Patricio Pérez. These enhancements aim to beautify the environment and strengthen Torrevieja’s image as a city committed to sustainability. The goal of these actions is to ensure safer, cleaner, and more pleasant spaces for both residents and visitors while also enhancing the town’s environmental and landscape value.

The Ayuntamiento acknowledges that summer heat poses additional challenges for maintaining vegetation and ensuring the safety of the workers responsible for its care. Therefore, specific prevention and maintenance measures are being applied to protect urban flora and the safety of staff involved in these activities. The Parks and Gardens Department also maintains active profiles on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X, where they share real-time updates about actions like pruning, plantings, watering, and special campaigns. This initiative connects municipal management with residents and encourages active participation in the commitment to making Torrevieja a greener and more sustainable city.

As schools prepare to reopen, further pruning of palm trees and the upkeep of green areas around schools will be carried out. These actions are part of an annual plan aimed at maintaining the best possible state of public spaces throughout the year.
