The Justice and Public Administration Department is investing three hundred and fifty-nine thousand and six hundred and twenty-nine euros into revitalising the judicial facilities in Torrevieja. This initiative involves transforming a premise located on Patricio Zammit Street into a new Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit and a judicial archive. The project encompasses the creation of two judicial archives, accessible restrooms, a cleaning room, a rack space, and a welcoming area across a total of two hundred and ninety square metres on the ground floor of the building.

The construction began on the thirteenth of June and is expected to be completed by September. Currently, work involves the installation of electrical pre-installations, air conditioning, ventilation, communications, and security systems. Additionally, sanitation connections have been completed, and the placement of drywall and interior carpentry has commenced, alongside the installation of a metal staircase leading to the attic of Archive One.

This effort is part of the broader plan by the Department to modernise judicial infrastructures in the Valencia Community. The aim is to provide more functional environments for both legal professionals and the public. With the establishment of this new facility, Torrevieja will benefit from up-to-date installations that cater to current needs, ensuring more efficient document management and enhanced support for individuals utilising the judicial system.

The new space is specifically designed to improve services for victims of gender-based violence, ensuring a specialised and appropriate environment for the work carried out by forensic teams. The emphasis on modern facilities demonstrates a commitment to adapting judicial spaces to better serve the community’s requirements.
