A twenty-five-year-old man had to be rescued on Sunday afternoon at El Pedrucho beach, located on the Gran Vía de La Manga in San Javier, Murcia. Emergency services from the emergency coordination centre received multiple calls around seven twenty-nine in the evening, requesting urgent medical assistance for a man who had been pulled from the water in a semi-conscious state.

Local police and a mobile unit from the Health Emergency and Urgent Care Management arrived on the scene promptly. The medical personnel stabilised the individual on-site, ensuring his condition was monitored before transport.

Following the immediate care provided, he was subsequently taken to Santa Lucía Hospital in Cartagena, where he was admitted through the emergency department. Authorities are yet to determine the circumstances that led to the man’s distress in the water.

Emergency services remind swimmers to be cautious and attentive, especially in busy coastal areas, to prevent such incidents from occurring.
