On Monday, the Local Police in Cartagena seized four hundred and ninety-five items, predominantly clothing and counterfeit goods from well-known brands, in La Manga. This operation was part of the ongoing fight against street vending along the beaches.

The police units involved included those assigned to the Quality of Life Section, the Drone Unit, the Maritime Section, and district agents. Such interventions have been carried out throughout the summer season as part of a campaign aimed at preventing illegal activities, including alcohol consumption in public areas and the presence of illegal parking attendants.

During the summer thus far, police presence has been consistent in areas with high footfall from both locals and visitors. One area that has seen increased surveillance is Plaza Bohemia, where Local Police patrols and the Special Operative Group for Citizen Security have provided preventive monitoring, assistance to injured persons, and intervention in various conflicts.

The initiative also led to the identification and confiscation of over twenty unlicensed parking attendants and four individuals with prior convictions. The City Council reiterates its commitment to safety and coexistence in leisure zones, encouraging local shopkeepers and residents to continue their collaboration with the Local Police for swift and effective responses to any issues that may arise.
