A forty-five-year-old man has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Almoradí on suspicion of attempted murder. The arrest follows a shooting incident involving a doorman at the Sala Luxx nightclub on the night of one July. Following a dispute between several clients and security personnel, the victim, aged forty-one, was shot in the abdomen at close range after the suspect returned to the venue and was denied entry. The victim required emergency surgery for severe injuries, and the Civil Guard state that without prompt medical assistance, he might have died.

Authorities commenced their investigation immediately after the shooting, which involved a detailed analysis of the suspects’ surroundings and identification of the individuals expelled from the nightclub that evening. A crucial lead was found when investigators traced the vehicle used in the suspect’s escape back to a family member, allowing them to narrow down their search.

After tracking the suspect to a location in the province of Murcia, authorities executed a search warrant but discovered he had fled. On the thirtieth of July, the suspect was finally located and arrested in Almoradí, situated over ten kilometres from the crime scene. He has been remanded in custody while the investigation is ongoing and could potentially face additional charges, including illegal possession of firearms if he is found to have been unlicensed.

Although the firearm used in the incident has yet to be recovered, law enforcement maintains that this will not prevent prosecution for the serious offences committed. The case has raised significant concerns regarding violence in nightlife areas, prompting discussions about security measures in clubs across the region.
