On August eighth, a British couple caused a stir on an easyJet flight from Luton to Alicante-Elche airport with their drunken behaviour. Witnesses reported that the pair, both appearing to be in their thirties, began drinking excessively during the journey. One witness recalled the woman shouting at cabin crew when they suggested she switch to a non-alcoholic drink, and announcing their plan to join the ‘mile-high club’.

The situation escalated when the woman reportedly felt sick and attempted to vomit into a bin liner. As she rushed to the bathroom, she nearly knocked over a child. A nearby passenger described how loud noises and groans emanated from the toilet after the couple locked themselves inside, making the situation uncomfortable for surrounding families.

Despite cabin crew’s repeated requests for the couple to cease their behaviour, their actions continued until the crew escalated the matter to the flight’s pilot. Upon landing in Alicante, police were waiting to address the disruptive pair.

A spokesperson for easyJet assured that they take incidents like this seriously and emphasised the importance of passenger safety and wellbeing. They stated that cabin crew are trained to handle such scenarios effectively to ensure the safety of all on board.
