A thirty-five-year-old man has been arrested by La Guardia Civil in Santa Pola, accused of committing two violent robberies in a local supermarket. During one of the incidents, the suspect entered the store disguised with a cap and sunglasses, first posing as a customer before pulling out a concealed firearm and threatening the cashier for cash. He also violently snatched a necklace and chain from a female customer, sustaining injuries in the process.

Following his arrest, a judge ordered the man to be held in provisional custody without bail. Although the employee activated the alarm system three times during the robbery, the perpetrator managed to escape with the stolen money. Police investigations began immediately, and thanks to community cooperation and collected testimonies, officers identified the individual, who had previous convictions for property crimes.

The suspect was located at an abandoned property and taken into custody. Police recovered the stolen chain and necklace, which had been sold at a gold buying shop in Santa Pola. In addition, they seized part of the clothing worn during the robbery and the firearm, which was found by a hiker in the hills of the municipality.

The man, of Argentine nationality, has been presented to the Elche Judicial Court. The investigation remains ongoing, as authorities look into potential connections to other similar crimes in the area.
