The Benidorm City Council has announced the addition of three new children’s amphibious chairs to its accessible beaches, marking an investment of four thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven euros and fifty cents. These chairs will be situated at La Cala, Parque de Elche, and Levante, thereby enhancing the facilities available to families with children needing assistance at the beach.

During a recent visit to the accessible beach area at Parque de Elche, Mayor Toni Pérez highlighted the local government’s continuous efforts to enhance accessibility along the coastline. He pointed out that this initiative is part of a broader commitment to eliminate architectural barriers and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy Benidorm’s beaches.

Each accessible beach point will feature a unit of the new amphibious chairs, which meet all necessary ISO certifications. Additionally, the accessible beach areas are equipped with ramps, walkways leading to the sea, adapted changing rooms, and adult amphibious chairs. These facilities are designed to facilitate bathers’ ease of access and comfort.

Furthermore, the City Council reported a significant increase in user satisfaction, evidenced by a rise in the number of people using the service. In the summer months of June, July, and August twenty twenty-four, the number of users reached eight thousand six hundred and eighty-four, which is over one thousand five hundred more than the previous year. This growth reinforces the ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, accessible services for all beachgoers.
