Local police in Cartagena have discovered a cannabis plantation within a residential property, housing over one hundred plants. The interior spaces designated for cultivation featured ventilation systems and artificial lighting commonly associated with such illegal activities.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, in the area known as Los Partidiarios. Authorities received a tip just after midnight, regarding several individuals behaving suspiciously near a house.

Police units promptly arrived on the scene and apprehended one individual by the front door of the property. Another suspect, who was on the roof, fled through an interior courtyard upon noticing the police presence.

The individual found at the door was identified as the property’s owner and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a public health offence. The Civil Guard also arrived at the location to secure the site and assist with the ongoing investigation, according to statements from the Cartagena City Council.
