On Thursday, thirty-first of July, twenty twenty-five, a five-year-old boy was rescued from a private swimming pool in San Pedro del Pinatar following a near-drowning incident. Emergency services received a call from witnesses at eleven fifty-eight hours, prompting an immediate response. Local police, along with members of the emergency and civil protection services, were dispatched to the scene.

During the critical moments before the emergency services arrived, the Coordination Centre of Emergency Medical Services provided instructions to bystanders on how to perform CPR on the child. The prompt actions of these individuals were crucial in the child’s eventual recovery.

Once stabilised, the young boy was transferred to hospital by a mobile emergency unit from the Emergency Medical Services. He was taken to the Los Arcos del Mar Menor hospital in San Javier, where he will receive further medical attention.

Drowning incidents can happen quickly, especially in private pools where supervision may lapse. Authorities urge parents and guardians to remain vigilant to ensure the safety of children around water.
