In Dénia, Alicante, Local Police successfully rescued two children, aged four and six, after they were carried away by wind while playing on an inflatable board without life jackets or direct supervision on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place nearly a kilometre from the shore, raising immediate safety concerns.

The police reported that the children were transported back to safety in a municipal boat and handed over to their anxious parents. They expressed gratitude for the swift response of their agents, which likely averted a potential tragedy.

Additionally, the authorities have begun an investigation to clarify the circumstances leading up to the incident, highlighting the importance of water safety. The Police emphasised that even a moment’s distraction can be dangerous in marine environments.

Local Police reiterated that active supervision of minors is crucial for their safety while near water, reminding all guardians of the responsibilities involved in watching young children in recreational situations.
