The official bulletin of Alicante Province, published on July sixteenth, twenty twenty-five, has initiated the public consultation for a project focused on resurfacing and installing sidewalks on Miguel de Cervantes Street and its adjacent roads in Orihuela Costa. This street is identified as a key route in the Campoamor urbanisation.

The project outlines plans to improve pedestrian accessibility and establish a safe, even roadway. Enhancements will include new sidewalks and the replacement of vertical and horizontal signage. Moreover, LED lighting will replace the existing lighting, further improving the area’s visibility at night.

Addressing current irregularities in pedestrian pathways, the project emphasizes the necessity of enlarging and restoring footpaths to ensure better accessibility. The reconstruction of raised pedestrian crossings and improved drainage to manage runoff will also be crucial elements of the plan. The designated area for these improvements is bounded by Rosalía de Castro Street, the N-three hundred thirty-two, and surrounding roads.

With a total budget set at eight hundred eighty-five thousand eight hundred forty-five euros, the project will receive support from the Provincial Council of Alicante, which will cover forty-five percent of the total costs through a subsidy. This funding falls under the Plan Planifica twenty twenty-four to twenty twenty-seven. Earlier this year, the town hall also initiated contract bidding for road resurfacing projects in Orihuela for twenty twenty-five, with a total budget of two million three hundred thousand euros allocated for urban and coastal streets.
