Rojales recently celebrated the San Pedro Apostle and Moors and Christians fiestas, marked by a comprehensive police operation aimed at enhancing safety. The Local Council’s initiative successfully met its goals, resulting in virtually no incidents during the festivities. This achievement was highlighted by Councillor Antonio López, who noted the vibrant atmosphere filled with colourful events and an influx of visitors.

Councillor López expressed concerns over previous years where large crowds led to potential security issues such as vandalism and public disorder. He firmly stated that destructive behaviours should not be part of such popular celebrations and praised the efforts of the Local Police Force, alongside the cooperation of the Civil Guard and Civil Protection.

The collaboration among various law enforcement agencies played a crucial role in ensuring a tranquil experience for attendees. López reported that young people could roam freely in festivity zones without encountering conflict, allowing families and friends to fully enjoy the festivities.

Finally, the councillor highlighted the significance of a peaceful celebration, where the absence of incidents is often overlooked. He pointed out that living in tranquility should be cherished, and the successful management of this year’s events reflected that aim.
