Pilar de la Horadada continues to enhance its surveillance and traffic control system with the recent addition of twenty three new cameras. This brings the total to fifty devices covering the full area of seventy five square kilometres in the municipality. The total investment for this improvement amounts to four hundred thousand euros, which allows for a significant saving of seventy percent compared to the previous system.

Councillor for Citizen Security, Marina Sáez, emphasised the importance of the new technology. She noted that the improved image quality greatly aids in visualising accidents, clarifying theft cases, and addressing any criminal events occurring in public spaces.

Moreover, Sáez stressed the significance of ensuring that residents feel safe and protected in their local environment. This system aims to enhance overall community safety and public confidence.

Nieves Moreno, from the Modernisation area, explained that the installation of these cameras spans the entire municipality. Locations include El Mojón, Torre de la Horadada, Mil Palmeras, and Pinar de Campoverde, as well as Pilar de la Horadada itself. The council is also planning further improvements with the introduction of license plate detection technology in the future.
