On Sunday afternoon, a tragic drowning incident occurred in a private pool located in a residential area of Aspe, claiming the life of a two-year-old boy. According to the Emergency Coordination Centre, the alarm was raised at six fifteen PM, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

A unit from the Emergency Medical Services, known as SAMU, arrived swiftly at the site where they found the child in cardiac arrest. Bystanders had already begun basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, prior to the arrival of the medical team.

SAVU’s medical professionals continued advanced CPR for several minutes but sadly, there was no response from the young boy. Official confirmation of his death was made at the scene.

This unfortunate incident highlights the vital importance of pool safety, particularly with young children, and serves as a poignant reminder of the potential dangers associated with swimming pools.
