The National Police arrested a fugitive on Friday in Pilar de la Horadada, Spain, who was wanted under a European Arrest Warrant issued by Hungarian authorities. The suspect is accused of fifteen counts of fraud and document forgery, which could lead to a prison sentence of over twenty-two years. Authorities claim that his crimes occurred in two thousand nineteen when he fraudulently established a logistics company associated with high-value goods transportation.

The fugitive’s modus operandi involved acquiring valuable items for shipping and then misappropriating them for resale, causing financial losses estimated at one point two million euros. This activity not only impacted the victims but also affected the financial interests of the European Communities. Consequently, Hungarian authorities issued an arrest warrant on the thirtieth of May, further amplifying his notoriety by placing him on Europol’s Most Wanted list.

Once the warrant was received, the National Police initiated efforts to locate the suspect after receiving information about his potential escape from Spain. Surveillance operations were set up across regions in Murcia and Alicante, where it was believed he could be hiding. Using a luxury vehicle linked to his fraudulent business, the suspect was tracked as he moved around, including frequent trips to Alicante airport.

After three months of extensive investigation, police successfully located the fugitive in Pilar de la Horadada, close to the Murcia region, where he was ultimately arrested.
