One hundred sixty five civil guard trainees have joined various territorial citizen security units in the Murcia region, starting on Tuesday, July the eighth. This marks the second phase of their training period. Over twenty one percent of the new recruits are women, reflecting a growing commitment to gender diversity within the Civil Guard. In fact, this year’s intake represents a nearly doubling of trainee numbers compared to the previous year, which saw eighty nine individuals join the ranks.

The initiative aims to enhance the presence of trainee guards in territorial units focused on citizen safety and prevention. Through this seasonal reinforcement, the Civil Guard supports efforts to ensure a safer community during the busy summer period. The trainees are part of the one hundred thirtieth promotion from the Guard Academy in Baeza and the one hundred seventy first promotion from the Young Guards College in Valdemoro.

These new recruits will undergo a forty week practical training period in the field, allowing them to apply their skills and gain valuable experience. This hands-on approach not only prepares them for future specialisations within the Civil Guard but also directly benefits local communities as they engage in essential safety operations.

The ongoing commitment of the Civil Guard to enhance its workforce reflects strategic efforts to address safety needs within the region.
