The Education Department of Torrevieja has announced the introduction of a free Digital Camp aimed at students aged nine to thirteen. Scheduled to take place from the twenty-first to the twenty-fifth of July, this initiative aims to develop the digital skills of young learners in a fun, safe, and responsible environment. The camp promises a unique experience where children can engage with technology through games, challenges, and practical activities tailored to their age and skill level.

The programme will be delivered by specialised educators in secure spaces designed to facilitate both learning and enjoyment. Children attending the camp will learn how to identify fake news, create presentations and videos, protect their privacy online, manage their digital footprint, and understand the importance of respect in social networks. They will also have the opportunity to create their own video game and discover healthy technology habits.

Upon completion, participants will be awarded an official DigComp certificate, recognised by the European Union, confirming their acquired digital competencies. Registration is currently open via the official website, with places limited.

The Digital Camp is powered by the Cybervolunteers Foundation and is part of the Digital Competencies for Children Programme, funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU and the Ministry of Youth and Childhood. The initiative prioritises ensuring digital inclusion from an early age, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable or socially excluded groups.
