In San Miguel de Salinas, three individuals were injured in a collision involving two vehicles on the CV-95 on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services, including a unit from the Servicio de Atención Médica Urgente (SAMU) and firefighters from the provincial consortium based in Torrevieja, responded promptly to the scene of the accident.

Medical teams treated a seventy-two-year-old woman for an ankle fracture, a seventy-six-year-old man for chest trauma, and a thirty-eight-year-old man for multiple bruises. The elderly victims were extricated and stabilised before being transported to the Hospital Universitario de Torrevieja for further treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that one of the drivers may have experienced a coughing fit, causing them to lose control of their vehicle and veer into oncoming traffic. The authorities are currently investigating the accident to confirm the exact circumstances of the incident.

The CV-95 has seen safety improvements in recent years, including the construction of five roundabouts to enhance road safety at critical points. This stretch of road connects various municipalities, spanning twenty-six point four kilometres from Orihuela to Torrevieja, and is known for heavy traffic congestion.
